When I returned from Silicon Valley in 2003, I spent a lot of time thinking about areas where Europe might have a competitive edge over the USA. The environmental technology field was the most promising of these.

Patrick has 21 years prior experience of Venture Capital with 3i, investing in the UK, mainland Europe, the USA and Israel. During this time he gained a reputation as a thought leader and innovator, investing in a wide range of technology companies across a variety of sectors. He was, for example, the founding MD of Silicon Valley operation and for many years was on the management committee of venture capital operation. Patrick started his career as a research engineer at GEC and as a technical consultant for Marconi Space Systems.
Patrick is the current Chairman of the European Venture Capital Association's Venture Capital Committee, and is a member of the EVCA executive committee.
Patrick has a PhD in electronic engineering and a First Class Honours degree in electronic & electrical engineering from UCL.
