I'd been acting for companies in the Cleantech sector for many years. In the past few years I was seeing more and more companies emerge in this sector and, even though they were good investment opportunities, it was very hard to find investors for them. There was a clear gap for a specialist investor in Europe - that's why I started ETF.

Peter has over 20 years experience in investment banking, stockbroking and corporate finance. His experience includes ten years at PaineWebber International (UK) Ltd as Senior Vice President, and Head of US Equities for the UK as a Director in NatWest Markets Inc. During these years he worked on a variety of transactions involving companies such as Ionics, US Filter, Fuel-Tech NV, Thermo Electron and Culligan Water.
Whilst at PaineWebber in the 1990s he started and ran the PW Annual European Environmental Service Companies Conference. Latterly, he worked for 5 years at Matrix Corporate Finance as an adviser to a variety of privately held companies including those in the Solar PV, Renewable Forestry and Mass Transportation industries.
Peter has a First Class Honours degree in PPE from Trinity College, Oxford; is a co-winner of the Laurent Perrier Conservation Award (1992); is a member of the Parliamentary Renewable & Sustainable Energy Group (PRASEG); has served on the European Advisory Board of the Cleantech Venture Network and sits on the Development Board of the Plymouth Marine Laboratory (PML).
