We are investors in some of the most exciting European growth companies - companies that change the game and change the world by delivering big environmental benefits.

We are a lead investor, active on the boards of the companies we support. At the time we invest, our companies typically already have some revenue and great growth prospects. We often support our companies through more than one investment round, committing €5m-15m overall.

Cleantech investors in general have focused on alternative energy generation companies in wind, solar and marine power. The capital required to develop and roll out these technologies is normally huge. What has been largely overlooked are those technologies that can enable our existing resources - not just energy but also limited natural resources - to be used more efficiently. Typically, these also save money rather than requiring large-scale spending. In our book, it is these demand-side technologies, as opposed to those on the supply-side, where some of the biggest game-changing opportunities lie – where it is possible to grow unique companies with a big impact relative to the amounts invested. That is where we focus.
